Backcountry Coach
YEAR STARTED COACHING AT MWSC: 2022
After seeing one too many reflections in the ice of the Adirondack Mountains, Mark drove to McCall and never skied back. He spent several years teaching ski lessons, tuning gear, and working in marketing at Brundage Mountain before becoming a rock climbing guide with Idaho Mountain Guides during the warmer months.
In winter, Mark coaches MWSC’s Backcountry Team and guides for Payette Powder Guides. When he’s not skiing or climbing, he enjoys photography and videography with Payette Media Productions, playing music with friends, building things, and spending time with family and friends.
His favorite ski descents include the Middle Teton Glacier, Nick Peak, Monument Peak, Mount Adams, Mount Baker, and Tuckerman’s Ravine.
