Athlete Safety

U.S. Ski & Snowboard works to provide a safe environment in which athletes can train and compete, free from abuse and inappropriate behavior.

Please review U.S. Ski & Snowboard's Athlete Safety policies, the SafeSport Code, and the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies.

If you are an athlete who has experienced inappropriate behavior or know of an athlete who has experienced inappropriate behavior, please report to the U.S. Center of SafeSport HERE or U.S. Ski & Snowboard HERE.

All adult participants are mandatory reporters. Reporting violations may be made anonymously and there are no fees for reporting. We all are part of promoting a culture of safety through education, listening, and speaking up.

SAFETY MESSAGES

Stick to the Chair

Stick to the Chair

Enjoy the lift ride to the top with the bar down until you approach the unloading ramp. Just before your skis hit the ground, raise the bar!

Ski with a Buddy

Ski with a Buddy

Devo Team skis and rides with buddies. On the chair, always first make sure your buddy is ready to pull the bar down before doing so.

On the snow if you fall, let your buddy know you are okay by tapping the top of your helmet.

Always have a planned meeting place at the bottom of a chair should you break up.  Stick to that plan!

Know the Snow

Know the Snow

Each morning Coaches will consider weather and conditions per ski area Weather & Snow Reports.  If these are deemed unsafe for planned training, then coaches may postpone or alter the training plan.
