The McCall Winter Sports Club Freeride Team competed in their first event for the season! The local event produced by MWSC was the TamJam IFSA 2* Regional Qualifier at Tamarack Resort. This is the first Junior IFSA event that has been at Tamarack and the first of two Big Mountain Freeride events that MWSC will be producing this season. The other one being the Hidden Valley Hoedown at Brundage Mountain on March 4th and 5th. Competition day threatened to be low to no visibility and snowing but the Freeride Gods were looking out for the athletes by letting that West wind blow which blew all of the clouds away and left a few inches of fresh snow on the course. 
The competition consisted of two runs with a combined best score. Teams travelled from Snowbasin, UT, Solitude, UT, Grand Targhee, WY, Mt Batchelor, OR, White Pass, WA and Bogus Basin, ID.

MWSC had 12 athletes competing from the Freeride Team. Out of the 56 athletes competing the MWSC Team took home 6 podium finishes. Here are the podium results as follows: 

U12 Ski Female: Scout Weiseth 1st

U12 Ski Male: Alex Tyree 2nd

12-14 Ski Female: Addison Nichols 3rd

12-14 Ski Male: Chase Dawson 1st 

15-18 Ski Male: Dominic Colafranceschi 1st,  Clyde Rydalch 3rd
