Welcome skiers and families to McCall Winter Sports Club’s 2023 season! 

We are fresh off of our Holiday Camps and are ready to begin the regular programming for 2023. We have a very full calendar this season including Devo, Race and Big Mountain at Brundage and The Little Ski Hill and newly added Devo and Freeride at Tamarack Resort. We have a total of 175 athletes spread over of these programs making MWSC roughly five times larger than when my daughter started as a U8 Mighty Mite. WOW. 

With the growth in numbers comes a lot of energy, excitement, laughter, fresh powder shots, and gate smashing across the three gracious host mountains AND an even greater need to move in the same direction. A key component to routing aligned results is constant communication.  On any given day, plans may change in the face of weather, snow conditions, or crowds. Whatever the course, adaptability and teamwork amongst coaches, parents, and athletes will work in our favor.

I would like to take a moment to remind everyone (and any other needed magicians who are required to get the athletes to the hills) of our communication channels; those primarily being SportsEngine and WhatsApp.

• SportsEngine hosts our public-facing website AND private team pages. To access your athlete’s private team page, you’ll need to be logged in to your SportsEngine account. See the upper, right corner to “sign in” on a web browser.  Then navigate to your athlete’s team page via the “My MWSC Team” menu.
   
• For mobile team access, download both the SportsEngine app AND What’sApp.  
   
• Refer to the SportsEngine app for planned practices, athlete and staff rosters, and other team news.
   
• Use What’sApp for team chats; including how to prepare for the next training day, coaches’ messages, and to ask questions. Again each team has their own specific chat which our coaches will be using for short term changes such as, “12” of snow tonight, bring powder skis tomorrow”  or “last minute change, due to subzero temps, let’s meet at 1030 tomorrow morning.”
   
• If you prefer to privately email a coach, use the Messages button in the SportsEngine app to send an email OR the envelope icon in the upper-right corner of the website (once logged in of course!).
   

I would like everyone to ensure they have access to their team sites so our hard-working and fun-loving coaches can focus on creating lifelong skiers, rather than guess who’ll be attending practice and wonder if they’ll be prepared.
