MWSC is excited to welcome Kerry Lofy as the Freeride Head Coach and Program Manager for ski and snowboard training and competition at Tamarack Resort.
With an experienced coach and competitor like Lofy, partnered with MWSC's three ski areas; Brundage Mountain, Little Ski Hill, and Tamarack Resort; MWSC is poised to put Valley and Adams counties on the map for world-class freeride training and competition. This season's local comp schedule includes IFSA Jr. Regional competitions at Tamarack Resort and Brundage Mountain; as well as USASA qualifiers at Tamarack Resort and Little Ski Hill.
I am a Midwest native who grew up skiing the icy tundra of Wisconsin and Northern Michigan. I competed in the X-Games and then ended up ski racing NCAA D1 for Colorado Mountain College. After my ski racing and freestyle career, I then took to the competitive Big Mountain scene. I competed for a few years on the Freeskiing Tour and fell in love with sharing my passion for skiing by coaching. I started the Big Mountain ski team for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club then moved onto Squaw Valley, CA where I took a position as the head Big Mountain competition coach. While at Squaw I was able to help coach the 2017 Junior World Freeride Champion. If I am not coaching or skiing, you can find me B.A.S.E. jumping, wing suiting, skydiving, speedriding, mountain biking, dirt biking or snowmobiling.
