10-year US Ski Team Member and 2-time Olympian Returns to McCall for the 2020/2021 Season!

On the World Cup Circuit; Erik "Fish" Fisher has skied many places. Lake Louise, Canada was where his debut was made in November 2005. Val Gardena, Italy was where Fish earned a 7th place finish in 2008. Kitzbühel, Austria was where he earned an 11th place finish at the famed Hahnenkamm downhill race in 2009.

Since retiring his racing career, Fish has shifted his attention to athletes, and his purpose to coaching.  Most recently Fish joined the McCall Winter Sports Club as a consulting coach for the 19/20 season.  Albeit an early end to this last season, Fish's strengths in leadership, communication and enterprise have proven forward movement of the needle.

Still fast on skis, still passionate about coaching, and still loving his original place of home; Erik is as stoked as MWSC to announce his time in McCall, Idaho is not over. In fact, it's a new beginning as Erik has accepted the full-time position of Program Director starting immediately.

"Being an Idaho native, I have always dreamed of living in McCall. And, as the new Program Director of the McCall Winter Sports Club, this dream has finally become reality! I’m thrilled to assist in building MWSC into an elite program, and I’m thrilled to do it alongside homegrown talent. The hardworking athletes and supportive parents of Idaho will propel this program to greatness. While continuing our incredible partnerships with Brundage Mountain and Little Ski Hill, together we will create a culture of success and come to define competitive ski racing for all of Idaho," says Erik Fisher.

This is a great opportunity for our local and supporting community of skiers and riders. MWSC looks forward to building a stronger partnership with Brundage Mountain and Little Ski Hill, a closer connection with our members and sponsors, and a more compelling and credible program for new and returning athletes. Erik's experience at elite and grassroot levels will be key and pivotal for the future of the club.

Winter programming for the 20/21 season will be announced soon; including a couple new disciplines as we invite snowboarders and adults to join the on-snow team.
